In 2024, the rules for issuing temporary residence permits (TRP) in Kazakhstan changed significantly. Now foreign specialists can obtain a TRP not only under an employment contract, but also:
By order of dispatch on a business trip (within the framework of an intra‑corporate transfer);
Based on the service contract between legal entities.
These changes were initiated with the participation of WPK and are already being successfully applied in practice.

Organizations that use business trips and temporary transfers;
International contractors and consultants.
Medical insurance: is it mandatory?
For EAEU citizens (Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan):
When hiring, having insurance is mandatory (according to the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Law “On Population Migration”).
Without insurance, concluding an employment contract is not permitted.
Important: If the insurance term is less than a year, the temporary residence permit will be issued for the insurance period, even if the employment contract is for a longer period.
